This superbly crafted timber-framed house with a living area of over 163 m² was built in 1998 on a plot of 800 m². As soon as you step into the garden, you notice that the property has been very well cared for. This impression is further strengthened once you step inside, in the clever arrangement of the stylish rooms.
Beautiful solid wooden beams give the house more than a touch of rustic charm. Numerous doors and doorjambs on the stately ground floor are framed and lined with real wood. The spacious sitting and dining room alone has an area of around 37 m². Flooded with light from either side, it serves as a breakfast room, a festive events room for friends and family, a place to curl up with a book or watch television, and somewhere to spend contemplative hours in front of a crackling fire. An impressive wooden staircase, which nestles up against the homely, well-made bar in the entrance hall of the building, takes you up to the first floor of this half-timbered house. This floor has two more rooms which can be used as bedrooms, a hall, a bathroom with a bathtub, and there is also a generous storage area in the attic. One of these rooms would also be ideal as a workroom.
On the ground floor, a glazed double door leads from the large living room out onto the south-facing patio. The patio is around 38 m² in area, with views of the greenery of the garden and the wooded surroundings. The modern, fully equipped fitted kitchen also provides direct access to the covered patio on the eastern side of the house. Large lawns, a beautiful collection of trees, including some well-established older specimens, and tasteful plantings form a space which is in harmony with nature, screening the garden off from the surroundings and providing privacy. Two outside parking spaces and a garage with direct access to the inside of the house offer an additional touch of comfort. The rear wing of the building and the outbuilding opposite resemble the three-sided courtyard layout which is so typical of rural Brandenburg.
However, those who prefer the idyllic charm of the wooded suburbs to the noise and hustle and bustle of the big city will not find themselves missing out on anything here. The municipality of Rangsdorf, located south-east of Berlin, offers a nursery school, a primary school, and a secondary school (gymnasium), thus providing a complete education for children and youngsters. Various shopping facilities and numerous opportunities for sport and leisure are to be found in the village and in the immediate surroundings. These include the lakes of Machnower See, which is a 5-minute walk away, and Rangsdorfer See, which was christened the “Lido of Berlin” some 100 years ago, and for good reason. Whenever you need to visit the big city, Alexanderplatz can be reached in about 30 minutes by car. The regional express trains (RE5 and RE7) provide another quick way to get to the capital. It is only around 20 kilometres to BER airport and the Berliner Ring (A 10) is just 4 kilometres away.
