At the lake’s edge: Idyllic thatched holiday home with pier and boathouse

The wooden house is ideal for those who have a boat of their own or who appreciate having direct access to the water, whether this be anglers or those who are simply after some rest and relaxation. It was built on concrete pillars and has its own boathouse in the basement, with an electric roller door. On the ground floor is a pretty kitchen with a window, a small hallway, a shower and toilet and a sitting and dining room which faces to the southeast, and which has a large patio. From here, you have a wonderful view of your own pier and out across the lake.

The bedroom is on the first floor. Additional guests can be accommodated under the eaves in the room on the attic floor or can sleep on the pull-out sofa in the sitting/dining area. Thus, the practical layout of the house means that up to six people can be accommodated. The height of the ceilings in the rooms is between 2.54 m and 1.85 m. The house has a total area of 42.28 m². In addition to this, there are 10.15 m² of patio, as well as the 22.78 m² boathouse. Heating is electrical and the house was last thatched and repainted in 2016. The sunny patio of just over 10 m² is big enough be able to set up a large dining table. From here, a few wooden steps take you straight down to the picturesque pier.

The house is surrounded by a plot which totals 1,260 m² in area, of which 400.5 m² belong to this property. This area consists of a well-tended meadow between the patio and the pier, parking spaces for cars, a pretty wooden carport thatched with reed, a shed and wooded areas. The costs of running the house, including additional costs for electricity, the pier and rubbish collection are extremely reasonable.

The lake, Malchiner See, is situated in the unique landscape of the Mecklenburgische Schweiz. Stepping out of the front door of this hidden-away and quietly-situated house you can set off for extensive walks out in the pristine nature of the local area. The surroundings, dotted with forests, meadows and water will take you to unspoilt villages, castles, manor houses and various gastronomic and cultural attractions. The Mecklenburg Lake District offers many events throughout the year, such as fishing and harbour festivals, folk, shooting and beach festivals, and cultural events such as concerts and exhibitions. The city centres of Hamburg and Berlin are both just two hours away by car.
